I'm thinking I'll use this to display my upcoming project for 2008. I don't know what I'll end up doing with it, but I'm going to take a picture of myself every day for a year. I'll post the pictures here along with their date. It will mostly be one per day, but for those times I go out of town without my computer (yeah, it happens at least twice a year), there will be a few days without and then several on one day. I may also include little descriptions of things I think are important like if I get a haircut, punched in the face, or feel that something needs an explanation other than the picture itself. I have about a week and a half until I start, so this is really just a heads up. Because people know this exists and all.
A little about me, perhaps. My name, as you can see from my profile or whatever, is Mariel. Like Ariel, the little mermaid, but with an M. Please pronounce it correctly. I will only put up with the elderly, foreign, and extremely accented mispronouncing my name. Because I can hear your thoughts reading this. It's true. That's what blogs do. So, aside from being incredibly witty, I am a photographer. I take pictures of things. At this point in time, I don't get paid to do it, but if you would like to hire me, I'd be happy to accept payment for my photographic services. Along with taking pictures, I pay people to teach me things at a University. I'm currently majoring in Media Studies/Film/Whatever you want to call it, but I'm considering trying to make up a major. But that would mean I wouldn't graduate early. As of Monday, I'm technically halfway done with my college education, but we'll see about that. Also, I like music, being generally indie as fuck, keeping betta fish (I suppose I could keep others, but I like my betta), and taking care of my plants (an orchid and a peace lily). Yes, I am successfully growing an orchid in a college dorm room. It is possible. Let's see. What else might you want to know before I start barraging you with, well, me. I won't tell you what I look like because I'm sure you'll get tired of that pretty quickly. I can't think of anything else terribly important, so if there's anything you're dying to know, you can ask me. Nothing stupid though.
Enjoy the last few days before that big holiday everyone's talking about. I will see you in 2008, dear reader.
